The Billing Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and controlling the budgetary framework of their organization, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Most often reporting directly to company management, the Billing Officer manages a team responsible in particular for tracking the processing of customer or supplier invoices, and for verifying customer (or patient) details in their records.
This role covers all accounting operations related to customer accounts, including invoicing, accounting entries, payment follow-up and collection, and customer relations. The Billing Officer oversees all accounting and administrative operations related to the customer portfolio assigned to them, starting from the moment the contractual relationship is established.
The Billing Officer manages a team that monitors the processing of customer or supplier invoices and verifies customer information. At this level, the role is strategic: the Billing Manager must be able to design, implement, and monitor the organization’s budgetary and accounting plan, use activity-specific dashboards, analyze them, and produce reports. This enables the organization (e.g., a hospital or clinic) to maintain effective analytical accounting.
Finally, the Billing Officer directly manages customer relations for all invoicing-related issues (credit notes, disputes, unpaid invoices, etc.).
